1) Confirm you’re buying a complete kit, not a helmet/assembly without an ADF
Within the G5-01 family, “with Adflo” does not guarantee an auto-darkening filter is included. 3M lists a G5-01 with Adflo PAPR assembly that clearly states “ADF Model: None” and “Auto Darkening Filter Included: No.” [2]
The TFMS 46-1101-30VC listings describe a package that includes a G5-01 helmet supplied “with no ADF,” plus a separate included variable color ADF and a separate included Adflo turbo assembly with lithium-ion battery. Because the system is split into components, the simplest way to avoid ordering mistakes is to verify each component’s part number on the order confirmation or PO. [4] [5]
2) Filter and assembly details to confirm (don’t treat all G5-01 variants as identical)
3M describes the G5-01 platform as adaptable and notes the G5-01 auto-darkening filters are available in different models, including a Variable Color option. 3M also indicates there are different ADF options referenced as VC/TW, which is why “G5-01” by itself is not enough to confirm which lens you’re buying. On the TFMS 46-1101-30VC listings, the ADF is identified as “G5-01/03VC” with part number 46-0000-30VC, described as a variable color ADF for G5-01 and G5-03 helmets. If your shop standard calls for a different ADF type than what’s listed (for example, the TW option referenced by 3M), confirm the ADF model and part number on the paperwork, not just the helmet family name. Also confirm what overall system you are standardizing. 3M states the G5-01 helmet is compatible with both the Adflo Powered Air Respirator and Versaflo supplied air regulators (ordered separately). 3) Choose your carry case
